Engaging men and boys is essential for achieving gender equality. It not only supports the empowerment of women but also helps challenge and transform the social and gender norms that uphold patriarchy and inequality, which ultimately harm both women and men. Young Men's Assembly educates men and boys to be socially aware of these issues and empowers them to become advocates for positive change.
We run camps for men and boys to promote social cohesion, social mobilization, and also promote the fight against gender-based violence, crime, and social ills.
As part of fighting inequality and promoting education, we distribute dignity packs for young women in and out of school.
This program helps men and boys grow, develop, and achieve their full potential. Giving men and boys the opportunity to become self-sufficient individuals who are responsible for their own personal and career development.
The goal is to educate men and boys on how to manage conflict using an impartial person to help resolve their disagreements. The output is to ease the community tensions before they escalate to something more damaging.
We organize and facilitate support groups where men and boys share their lived experiences and offer each other advice. Thus, creating a safe space where they can find their purpose and formulate meaningful relationships amongst themselves, resulting in brotherhood. Through these support groups, we de-stigmatize the narrative around vulnerability and the negative connotation attached to it.
